7 Standard Colours

We offer seven classic Kiwi colours for our aluminium fencing, and the option to powder coat your fence in any custom Dulux powder coat colour to suit your project.

Multiple Panel Heights & Lengths

For each standard panel design variation, at least four different height options are available and four length options as well as custom sizes.

2. Quality

Quality is everything when investing in a system designed to enhance and protect your property. Before purchasing an aluminium fence or balustrade system, take a close look at the individual components to ensure they meet your standards and are of the highest quality.

Things to Look Out For Post & Slat Sizing

Key parts to check include the size, material, and thickness of the aluminium slats and posts. Following is a comparison between a BelAire 25mm thick slat and a standard 16mm slat commonly found on the market, a look at the differences between 6060 T5 and 6061 T5 aluminium, a comparison between a common wooden fence and BelAire aluminium system, and a look at our coating quality.

The BelAire slat (left) is 25mm thick versus the 16mm slat (right). See the difference with the 12.6 kg weights, the 25mm slat barely bends while the 16mm slat already has a large bow. 6060 T5 vs 6061 T5

Our tests show that the 25mm BelAire slat is four times stronger than the 16mm slat. While this may seem minor, the added strength is crucial when it comes to the privacy and protection of your most valuable asset.

6061-T5 and 6060-T5 aluminium differ primarily in strength, composition, and durability. 6061-T5 contains magnesium, silicon, and small amounts of copper and chromium, making it stronger, heat-treatable, and ideal for high-stress applications such as aerospace, marine, automotive, and structural framing. In contrast, 6060-T5 is a modified version of 6063, designed for better extrudability but with lower strength, making it more suitable for architectural and decorative uses like window frames and doors. While both alloys offer good corrosion resistance, 6061 performs better in harsh environments. Overall, 6061-T5 is the superior choice for demanding applications requiring strength and durability.
So for your fence which will stand tall, providing privacy and protection through all of New Zealand’s harsh weather conditions, 6061 T5 aluminium is the only option in our opinion.

Aluminium VS Traditional Fence Types

EXAMPLE TIMBER FENCE

Common issues with traditional fencing options:

• Warping and twisting
• Rotting
• Fading and discolouration
• Mould growth & staining
• Requires a treatment or paint
• Exposed fixings
• Movement, shrinking, gaps open up, fence becomes un-level

BELAIRE ALUMINIUM FENCE

Aluminium benefits & fixes to these common issues:

• No warping or twisting
• Rot resistant
• Powder coated
• No treatment or paint required
• 10 year warranty
• Channel recesses for fixings
• Level finish that will stay level

Coating Quality

All fences look great when first installed, long-term durability however depends on the quality and thickness of the powder coating.
For New Zealand conditions, we recommend a minimum coating thickness of 62 μm. As you can see, our coatings sit at 75.6 μm for optimal durability. Poor-quality powder and thin coatings can lead to fading, cracking, and peeling over time.
Equally important is the pre-coating process—raw alumini-um must be properly cleaned and chromated before powder coating. A yellow tinge inside the profile can indicate proper pre-treatment, ensuring better adhesion and longevity.

3. Customisable

At BelAire, we have in-house facilities for custom powder coating and glass cutting. This allows us to deliver the exact look you’re after without needing to outsource any part of the process. By keeping everything under one roof, we minimise lead times for custom projects and ensure the final product meets the high-quality standards you expect from us.

Powder Coating

Custom powder coated hardware allows you to create or match any aesthetic, allowing for continuity between your outdoor area and the rest of your property.
With us, you can have gold spigots and hinges. Our full stainless steel hardware range can be custom powder coated to match a large range of Dulux colours.

Custom Sizing & Design

We know that some locations and projects need something a little different, something to stand out. A custom panel size and slat design or infill is the perfect solution. Just come to us with your vision and our team will do what’s needed to bring it to life!

4. Compliance

Compliance is crucial; it is important that the system you use is compliant with all New Zealand regulations. A fully compliant product ensures you can have the peace of mind that your Fencing and Balustrades are of the highest quality and safety standards.

PS1. Producer Statement

Producer Statements are an engineering document that provides the necessary details to allow products to comply with NZ regulations.
If you are installing a fence around a pool or a balustrade to protect a fall of over 1000mm, the local council will require you to produce a PS1 at inspection, to comply with Pool Fencing (F9) or Balus-trade (F4).
The BelAire System and its range of hardware are all compliant with F4 and F9 New Zealand Standards and come with a PS1 producer statement.

6061 T5 Aluminium

Ensure you go with the best high tensile 6061 T5 Aluminium to give you maximum strength and peace of mind.
We have seen and heard of far too many fences simply shearing off at ground level from high wind. The risk versus reward of going with a weaker product is not worth it. Ensure you look into the quality and material that the system you choose is made from.

Don’t get caught out at inspection time with non-compliant products, potentially delaying your project and putting you out of pocket. Make the smart call and go with a system and family of products that are fully compliant and come with all of the required documentation to back it up.

5. New Zealand Local
