BelAire works to support safe outcomes for residential, commercial, architectural and pool safety projects across New Zealand.

We aim to supply products and information that help customers, installers, contractors and project teams plan and complete work safely and correctly.

Health and safety responsibilities

Everyone involved in a project has a role to play in keeping people safe. This may include BelAire, the customer, installers, contractors, site managers, builders, designers and other people working on or visiting the site.

Each party is responsible for understanding and meeting the health and safety requirements that apply to their work, site, role and project.

Product handling

Some BelAire products may be large, heavy, long, fragile, sharp-edged or awkward to move. Products should be handled with care and moved using suitable equipment, lifting methods and enough people for the task.

Before handling products, please check the order, packaging and site conditions. Do not attempt to lift, carry or move products if it cannot be done safely.

Delivery and unloading

The customer is responsible for making sure the delivery location is safe, accessible and suitable for the products being delivered.

Depending on the order, suitable unloading equipment, clear access or additional people may be required. Please advise BelAire before delivery if there are any access limitations, site hazards or special delivery requirements.

Installation safety

BelAire products should be installed by competent people using the correct tools, fixings, methods and safety equipment for the project.

Installers should review the relevant installation information before starting work and make sure the product is suitable for the site conditions, intended use and applicable requirements.

Do not install products that are damaged, incorrect or unsuitable for the site. Contact BelAire before installation if you are unsure.

Site conditions

Site conditions can affect product installation, safety and performance. Customers and installers should check the site before work begins.

This may include checking:

• Ground levels and surfaces
• Existing structures and fixing points
• Retaining walls, decks, pools, paths and accessways
• Underground services
• Overhead hazards
• Vehicle and pedestrian movement
• Weather and wind conditions
• Public access or shared work areas

Pool safety and compliance

Pool fencing and pool barrier work must be planned and installed carefully. Customers, builders and installers are responsible for making sure the final installation meets the applicable pool safety requirements for the property and local authority area.

BelAire can provide product information and support, but final compliance may depend on site layout, installation method, gate hardware, finished heights, gaps, surrounding surfaces and other site-specific details.

Use of correct products and components

BelAire products should be used only for their intended purpose and installed with suitable components, fixings and hardware.

Substituting components, modifying products or using incorrect fixings may affect safety, performance, compliance and warranty coverage.

Personal protective equipment

People handling, cutting, drilling, installing or moving fencing products should use suitable personal protective equipment for the task.

This may include gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective footwear, high-visibility clothing, dust protection or other equipment required for the site or task.

Working with contractors

Where multiple contractors or businesses are working on the same site, the parties should communicate and coordinate their work to help manage risks.

This may include confirming access, delivery timing, installation areas, work sequencing, temporary barriers, public safety and any site-specific rules.

Reporting safety concerns

If you notice a safety concern involving a BelAire product, delivery, installation detail or project site, please raise it as soon as possible.

Do not continue with work if there is a clear risk to people, property or product performance.

BelAire may provide product information, installation guides, warranty information, maintenance details or other support documents where available.

Customers and installers should read the relevant information before handling or installing products.
